About

This blog is all about negotiating and drafting information technology contracts. It’s for both lawyers and businesspeople.

The contracts discussed here address software as a service (SaaS), software licensing, cloud computing, technology outsourcing, technology professional services, electronic commerce, and more–pretty much all IT-related agreements, except patent licenses.

I’m David Tollen, the author. I’m also the author of The Tech Contracts Handbook, from the American Bar Association, and the founder of Tech Contracts Chalkboard, which provides training on IT contracts. (Please visit the Chalkboard website for additional information and resources.) I’ve served as General Counsel of a publicly traded software company, as Vice President of Business Development for a profitable technology start-up, and as an associate with a global law firm. Finally, I’m a Silicon Valley attorney at Adeli & Tollen LLP, a technology and intellectual property boutique with offices in San Francisco, Mountain View, and Los Angeles.

Comments are very welcome. I hope you find The Tech Contracts Blog useful.
